CXB multimedia: Gender-based violence (incl child marriage) and PSEA

BBC Media Action has developed a series of multimedia products to assist in communicating about gender-based violence and PSEA. The materials cover information about where and how victims can seek assistance; as well as safety advice.

Materials are primarily designed for use in information hubs or within community spaces and listening groups, but could also be used by agency field staff, volunteers and others working directly with communities. For those community members with mobile phones, the content could be shared directly with them for future reference, using Bluetooth, SD card or other transfer methods.

• [UPDATED] Print infographic / flashcard - Set of eight picture flashcards with safety advice; and information about how to get support and report incidents of GBV. Includes guidance notes for field workers / volunteers. (available in Bangla language / English language / Burmese language)
• Audio PSA - Rohingya language - 02'38" - covering information about the consequences of child marriage. 
• Audio PSA - Rohingya language - 02'53" - encouraging to seek support for protection from sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA)
• Audio package - Rohingya language - 4'10" - Factual audio package including conversations with Rohingya women and protection volunteers about problems faced by women in the camps; safety tips and reporting routes
• Animated video - Rohingya language - 2'45" - encouraging use of women-friendly spaces (targeted to a female audience)
• Factual video - Rohingya language - 9'00" - information about the risks of child marriage and examples of how families can avoid it, through conversations with a young woman who has avoided child marriage and her parents; and a doctor.

These materials are part of an ongoing series of multimedia outputs being produced by BBC Media Action to enhance the range and quality of tools available to information hubs, listener groups and other community-facing information services within the Rohingya emergency response. The work is being delivered in partnership with Action Against Hunger and IOM; and is funded by Global Affairs Canada, the UK Department for International Development and the US government's bureau of population, refugees and migration.

The PSA on protection from sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA) has been produced by BBC Media Action in partnership with Tdh and is supported by UNHCR.
