The audio-visual materials on this page have been designed to support outreach staff and volunteers in communicating the importance of civil documentation. Specifically, the tools will help with communication around registering births, deaths, marriages and divorces. All the video and audio content is in Rohingya language.

The set includes the following tools:

  • 1 - Audio: birth
    In this short 2 minute audio announcement information is provided in Rohingya language in an easy to understand way on the importance and benefits of registering a birth using the vaccination card. While the announcement encourages women to give birth in a clinic and how to obtain a vaccination card, it also explains the steps to get a vaccination card if the birth is in the home.
  • 2 - Audio: marriage
    In this short 2 minute audio announcement information is provided in Rohingya language in an easy to understand way on the importance and benefits of registering a marriage. It also covers the documents needed as well as how to fill out the form. The announcement also explains the steps of making the application at the CIC office to obtain the marriage registration document.
  • 3 - Audio: death
    In this short 2 minute audio announcement information is provided in Rohingya language in an easy to understand way on the importance and benefits of registering a death. It also covers the documents needed as well as how to fill out the form. The announcement also explains the steps of making the application at the CIC office to obtain the death registration document.
  • 4 - Audio: divorce
    In this short 2 minute audio announcement information is provided in Rohingya language in an easy to understand way on the importance and benefits of registering a divorce. It also covers the documents needed as well as how to fill out the form. The announcement also explains the steps of making the application at the CIC office to obtain the divorce registration document.
  • 5 - Audio discussion
    In this audio program information is provided in Rohingya language on the importance of registering births, deaths, marriage and divorce. We hear from Rohingya people directly about their own experiences of the registration process, what the process is to register as well as the benefits. Two people talk about the challenges they faced because they didn’t register a divorce and a death. A mahji explains the importance of having the correct documents in the case of divorce, which can be a sensitive issue in conservative communities. The registration process is explained in detail by Mr Mizan who is a government official with the RRRC. He also explains how the CiCs can support people in the registration process.
  • 6 - Audio song
    Rohingya people enjoy listening to music so this short song provides information on the importance of registering births, deaths, marriages and divorce.
  • 7 - Video animation: marriage and divorce
    In this 5 minute animation we hear from a young girl and a mahji on why registering births and deaths in important. Noori is 10 years old and her family faces difficulties accessing relief because they have not registered her father’s death. The mahji explains the process to them. He also shows the vaccination card for his new-born daughter that ensures he can get relief for her. The animation is in Rohingya language and explains the importance of registration in easy to understand language
  • 8 - Video animation: birth and death
    In this 5 minute animation we hear from two families about why registering marriages and divorces is important. In one family, a brother and sister explain the problems they face because they didn’t register the sister’s divorce. Their neighbour helps them out by telling them how to register the divorce. He also explains how he registered his marriage. The animation is in Rohingya language and explains the importance of registration in easy to understand language that is supported by the
  • 9 - Video discussion
    In this 5 minute factual video, the Rohingya audience will learn why the registration of marriage, divorce, births and deaths is important. They will also learn about the benefits that registration can bring. We hear from community members who explain their understanding of the need for these civil documents. We also meet Mr Mizan, who is a senior government official from the RRRC. He explains the registration process in more detail and emphasises why it’s important to register these important events.
