Arrar Hota (Our Voice): A Community Radio Programme

'Arrar Hota' (Our Voice) is a radio programme produced by the local people in Palongkhali Union, Cox's Bazar district in Bangladesh providing necessary and important information to their own community in order to build resilience, enhance access to information about livelihoods and promote social cohesion. The programmes are made by Fondation Hirondelle with HEKS / EPER, and funded by Swiss Solidarity and the Swiss Agency for Development Co-operation.

Programmes in 2019 were made with the partnership of Coast Trust.

Arrar Hota: Covid-19

During the Covid-19 pandemic, it is important for everyone to know accurately about the disease and how to prevent it. This episode talks to community people about their concerns of the Covid-19 pandemic. Doctors speak on coronavirus transmission, symptoms of Covid-19 infection, how can the virus be prevented and about medication.

 

Arrar Hota: Social Distance

Maintaining social distance is very important to prevent wide-spreading Coronavirus. This episode talks with local people, doctors and experts on the ways to maintain social distance in the densely populated area in Cox's Bazar.

 

Arrar Hota: Cyclone preparedness during Covid-19 pandemic

In this episode people in cyclone prone areas talked about their concerns around this calamity in the time of Covid-19 pandemic. Experts discussed how people can prepare themselves to remain safe from both cyclone and COVID-19 infection.

In Cox's Bazar, one of the most densely populated districts, huge garbage is generated every day. Due to lack of proper management, garbage remains scattered and pollutes the environment. In this episode we talked with local inhabitants, public representative and experts on how people can manage waste better to ensure a cleaner environment and healthy community.
