Join us to radically re-imagine digital humanitarian policy so that it is centred around community agency, knowledge and needs.
The responsible and ethical use of emerging technologies within humanitarian systems requires intentional, democratised design with diverse perspectives to ensure that technological futures do not exacerbate past inequalities. Inclusive futures that impact all of us cannot be designed by just a select, privileged few.
For much of the world algorithmic accountability goes unchecked.
The CDAC 2020 Online Public Forum, Accountability in the Age of the Algorithm: Championing Pathways to Inclusion in Tech-Driven Futures, will bring together a diverse set of actors, thought leaders and decision makers from across the globe to discuss digital inclusivity, issues that constrain it, best practice from across the globe, and how we can ensure new technologies work for some of the world's most vulnerable populations.
The event will be held over two days - all times GMT/UK time. Please note that the clocks in the UK will go back one hour on Sunday October 25. The times below reflect this - be sure to know your local time by checking on worldtimebuddy.
- Wednesday 28 October: 12.00-15.30: CDAC Annual Public Forum; 16.00-17.30: Digital Brainstorm (all welcome!)
- Thursday 29 October: 12.00-15.30: CDAC Annual Public Forum
This event is free of charge and is open to anyone with an interest in making the world of technological innovation more equitable.
