Jainto Chai (We want to know) - provides information on rights-based issues through audio podcasts, songs, and dramas.

Rohingya refugees living in Cox’s Bazar require information about their options for the future and other key rights-related issues, including a basic understanding of the humanitarian process, how the camp operates and what they are entitled to. BBC Media Action is producing audio podcasts, songs and dramas – under the title “Jainto Chai” (We want to know), which explains about the basic understanding of rights and how to avail those. Each audio podcast is around 10 to 12 mins, and the length for songs and dramas are around 5 to 7 minutes each. All these contents are designed for one-to-one engagement or use in a listening group. The download includes an MP3 audio file (containing the audio content) as well as a topic-specific discussion guide to help community workers and group facilitators lead discussions after their group has listened to the programme.

    • [3 March 2021] Programme 1 – International Criminal Court (ICC) and serious crimes: This episode of Jainto Chai (We Want to Know)  focuses on the International Criminal Court, a special court that deals with the most serious crimes like genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and the crime of aggression. It was established for supporting the victims of the most serious crimes to ensure justice when the national courts don’t want or are unable to investigate the most serious crimes themselves. (also available without music) | related discussion guide in Bangla and English
    • [4 March 2021] Programme 2 – International Criminal Court (ICC)- arrest and place of trial: This episode of Jainto Chai (We want to know) focuses on the process  of arresting someone and having them appear before the ICC and how long a trial might take. The ICC does not have police force, so, so they cannot arrest a suspect. It is up to the government of a country where the person is to arrest the suspect and transfer them to the ICC court. This includes a person who has relevant information about the crimes and may also be a victim who has suffered harm due to the crimes. It provides information on what mediation is, why it’s important and who facilitates mediation in the camps.     • Jainto Chai Song 01 - Dispute resolution: The song is composed on how the community people can resolve disputes. The lyrics details out where the Rohingya people can go for dispute resolution, what kind of disputes can be mediated, and the advantage of dispute resolution.
    • Jainto Chai Song 02 - Intimate partner violence: This song is composed discouraging intimate partner violence in the family. This song sheds light on how domestic violence hampers peace in a family. It says neither a woman nor a man has the right to exploit the other in a family mentioning domestic violence is prohibited under law and is a punishable crime.
    • Jainto Chai Song 03Documentation: This song has been composed/written about the obligation to documentation for the four issues: birth, death, marriage, and divorce. It also describes the importance of documentation how the community people can register.
    • Jainto Chai Song 04 - Importance of equal participation of women and men in decision making: This song is composed emphasising the importance of equal participation of women and men in decision making. In this song, the family is metaphorically depicted as a vehicle and husband and wife as the two wheels of the vehicle. The advantage of making any decision by having a dialogue between man and woman in the family is described in this song. 
    • Jainto Chai Song 05 - Legal literacy: This song informs the Rohingya people about the legal rights they are entitled to. It explains despite not being a citizen of Bangladesh, they will get the assistance of law enforcing agency to get justice if they become victim of exploitation. 
    • Jainto Chai Song 06 - Social cohesion: This is a song about communal harmony. The song describes that there is no alternative to coexistence, tolerance, and cohesion to get along in peace. It sheds light on the importance of maintaining harmony by discussing in a cordial atmosphere in case of any disagreement.
  • Drama
    • Jainto Chai Drama 1Importance of documentation: Despite knowing the rule, one middle-aged Abul Khayer was evading the volunteers not to register his father’s death. His mother pushes Khayer to do the right thing by registering the death.
    • Jainto Chai Drama 2Dowry: Father of the groom, Nurul Alam, a practicing Muslim, was about to take dowry in his son’s wedding when an Imam intervenes in the process and explains why dowry is illegal in Islam.
    • Jainto Chai Drama 3Domestic violence (female perspective): Like many others, housewife Razia Sultana also believes her husband has a right to be abusive. But her mother-in-law questions the patriarchal practice and explains it is not okay.
    • Jainto Chai Drama 4Domestic violence (male perspective): Despite being a considerate person, middle-aged Abul Khayer sometimes abuses his wife. His nephew Majid Ali intervenes and explains it is not okay to have intimate partner violence.  
    • Jainto Chai Drama 5Early pregnancy: An early-wed young woman was being pushed by her in-laws to have child right after the marriage. But the wise grandmother-in-law intervenes in the process and explains the consequences of early pregnancy to the family members.
    • Jainto Chai Drama 6Woman in decision making: Following his nephew, middle-aged Abul Khayer was desperate to go to Malaysia illegally despite his wife and mother forbade him. Consequently, he understands that it is important to include female members in any decision-making process in the family.
