[Updated 29 January with audio tools]
Following the ruling of the International Court of Justice relating to Rohingya people in Rakhine state, the following tools may help explain the ruling to refugees in Cox's Bazar.
[NEW] A simple audio message explaining the ruling is available:
The UN Secretary General issued a statement on the ICJ decision. The translations may be helpful to humanitarian agencies in communicating this statement to refugees and host communities in Cox's Bazar. Translations include Bangla and Burmese printed versions and, to follow, a Rohingya language audio version of the secretary general's statement.
Audio messages were produced by BBC Media Action and translation of the UNSG statement was carried out by Translators without Borders, for the Cox's Bazar Communication with Communities Working Group, both as part of the Common Service for Community Engagement and Accountability. The service is delivered in partnership with Action Against Hunger and UNOPS and funded by EU Humanitarian Aid and the UK Department for International Development.
