Overview

Description:

The Dhaka Tribune is a Bangladeshi English-language compact newspaper published nationwide from the capital Dhaka. The publisher of the newspaper is K. Anis Ahmed, while Zafar Sobhan serves as the Editor. Dhaka Tribune was first published on April 19, 2013 when Bangladesh due to the rise of some radical forces was shaken and a series of propaganda campaign was launched by some far-right media against the progressive population of the country.Dhaka Tribune represents the progressive population of the country and its editorial policy is characterized as a liberal one and supports equal gender rights in Bangladesh. The motto of the newspaper is The news you want. No more, no less. On the other hand, the initial marketing campaign Glad to be a Bangladeshi was changed to I am made in Bangladesh. The newspaper, however, started as a broadsheet, and became a tabloid on March 1, 2015. Some of its regular supplements TMAG, Avenue T were subsequently merged with T-Junction after the change. Other notable supplements include Weekend Tribune, Arts & Letters and Treehouse. However, Arts & Letters was discontinued after December, 2014.Dhaka Tribune is owned by 2A Media Limited, a concern of Awami League leader Kazi Nabil Ahmed's Gemcon Group.
