Maasranga TV is a new private TV satellite channel which began broadcasting in July 2011.It has aggressively recruited some of the best-known names in journalism and TV from its rivals. The channel was set up by the Square Group, one of Bangladesh�s largest industrial conglomerates It has interests in pharmaceuticals, textiles, garment manufacturing and agro-chemicals. Maasranga�s Chief Executive, Syed Fahim Munaim, is a well-known journalist who waspreviously executive editor of The Daily Star. He was also was press secretary to theCaretaker Government of 2007-8. Maasranga TV has invested heavily in HD technology.
